Fusion Nigeria

At the invitation of Archbishop Josiah of Kaduna, a highly respected and internationally recognised leader in reconciliation, Fusion is supporting the Jacaranda Farm project. It is a 75 acre farming/tourism property with extensive facilities in hospitality (restaurant & accommodation), pottery, conference centre, orchards and chicken farms.

In 2006 four hand-picked young leaders from the diocese completed Fusion’s Certificate 3 youth & community training in Poatina and Victoria.  In mid 2007 a team visited Kaduna to provide further training for 28 local leaders.   On subsequent visits some of them will also undertake a Community Health Education Program that will see them visiting surrounding villages to bring support in basic health issues.   Dave & Jo Ireson, two senior Fusion workers with experience in horticulture, hospitality and youth work, have recently relocated from Australia to Kaduna to train and build capacity in the local people in practical skills, youth-work and community development. The dream is to see the farm grow into a centre of life, industry, training and reconciliation for the community.
