Daniel Mendelsohn

David Mendelsohn is a teacher, writer and author. His latest book “The Lost” has won several awards and tells the story behind his families tragic past as Jews in WW2 and the disappearance of 6 relatives during the Holocost. Upon the discovery of letters written to his grandfather in 1939 Daniel set out to find the solution to the mystery that has spanned decades. Mal will talk with Daniel who is in Australia for a writing festival about his discoveries and how this search has changed his life.

Pauline Coll

My name is Pauline Coll. I am a Sister of the Good Samaritan of the Order of St Benedict. For many years I was involved in education across three states and one territory. Most recently I worked with the Social Action Office (CLRIQ) inBrisbane and my special interest was the environment. Towards the end of 2004 the “Good Sams” took up the call of the international Women Religious Leaders (UISG) to commit to the eradication of the trafficking of women and children. I am the co-ordinator for the Good Samaritan Sisters working against such human trafficking. I am also a member of the national Religious Congregations’ Anti-Trafficking Working Group.
