Fusion has a long history and extensive involvement in radio broadcasting. Mal Garvin's award-winning radio show "Breakthru Generation" became part of the Australian cultural fabric in the 1970s, reaching millions of listeners and at one point making Mal the most recognised voice on Australian radio.
From managing community radio stations to broadcasting nationally via satellite and internationally on the web, Fusion’s philosophy of broadcasting is one of serving the best interests of the people, bringing young people and their communities together with hope.

“The Captain Midnight Show”
The Captain Midnight Show is a late night magazine-style program, focusing on the interests and needs of young people aged 12-25. Produced and hosted by the young people themselves (along with the enigmatic Captain), The Captain Midnight Show format has been enjoyed on many stations across Australia for many years.
Currently Captain Midnight can be heard on 104.7 Gippsland FM from 10:30pm - 12:30am, Wed - Sat.

Renowned tenor and brilliant singing teacher Jonathon Welch was compelled to form a choir made up of a bunch of homeless and disadvantaged people. What developed was “The Choir of Hard Knocks” 50 people who‘ve done it tough but who have now been given joy, hope and purpose. Matt will talk with Esther Coleman – Hawkins the co-ordinator for this project that has developed into a 5 part documentary for the ABC, about the behind the scenes and the difference it has made to the lives of the participants.

The world is facing a water crisis. Australia is one of the driest countries on earth, yet the average Australian consumes around 100,000 litres of water per year. After nearly a decade of drought, our reservoirs are at an all time low. Up to 60 percent of Australia’s urban water supply is used in the home, so a few basic changes to our daily routine can make a huge difference. Matt will talk with Craig Madden co-author of “Every Last Drop”, a new practical water saving guide that will help to conserve water and make a difference to our planet.

She is Australia’s leading premiere female jazz, blues and Gospel artist. She has been likened to the musical greats such as Mahalia Jackson and Bessie Smith. She has performed all over the world specializing in ‘jazz gospel’ music and her name is Lee Gunness. Matt will talk with this award winning singer about her career and what motivates and inspires this mother of 3 who lives on Lord Howe Island.

Advent and Easter broadcasts
Easter and Christmas are great opportunities for the community to come together. Celebratory “Reclaiming Easter” marches in every capital city are united with a special national broadcast, including live crosses and great marching music! Similarly in the Christmas season, Advent Pageants all over the country are united with a national radio broadcast, featuring excited Christmas greetings to the nation from thousands of school children.
