Fusion WA.  Our story.

In the summer of 1973 three enthusiastic young people sat huddled across the bench seat of an HQ Holden Panel Van looking out at a group of surfers enjoying the Indian Ocean swells off Yallingup in the South West of WA.  The conversation that took place that morning was the birthplace of what was to become Fusion in WA as they wrestled with the questions of what it meant to take faith seriously and how could they make the world a better place.

For the following five years Easter time at Yallingup became home to The Greazy Spoon.  Dozens of young people from around WA would come together, take over the Yallingup Community Hall and each night run an exciting program aimed at the surfers and their friends.  The Greazy Spoon provided a warm place away from the chill of the evening air and provided hospitality in the form of hot toast and drinks and live entertainment from international musicians.  The most memorable of which was a five hour concert in the packed hall by Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary fame. Today Fusion in WA looks rather different but at the core is still the passion to take faith seriously and to make the world a better place.
